Curriculum Introduction
At Arcadia Academy, each month features a thoughtfully planned curriculum designed around fresh themes and developmentally appropriate goals for our 3-year-olds. From language and early math to social learning and creative play, children explore new skills in a consistent, nurturing routine. During June and July, we offer a dedicated summer program with its own specially designed curriculum that balances fun, exploration, and continued learning.
3-Year-Old Program Yearly Curriculum Overview
Learning Area
Yearly Focus
Language & Early Literacy
Children are introduced to letter recognition and letter sounds while practicing early writing skills such as name tracing and beginning letter formation. Activities support vocabulary growth, listening skills, and early reading readiness.
Mathematics
Students develop early math skills through number recognition, counting objects, number tracing, and matching numbers to quantities. Concepts are introduced gradually to build confidence with numbers and problem solving.
Colors & Shapes
Children explore a variety of colors and geometric shapes through hands-on art projects, sorting activities, and environmental discovery. These experiences strengthen visual recognition and cognitive development.
Geography & Cultural Awareness
Students are introduced to world geography by learning about continents and exploring flags from different countries, helping them begin to understand the world around them.
Fine Motor Development
Daily activities such as tracing, coloring, cutting, and early writing exercises help strengthen hand muscles and coordination needed for writing and classroom tasks.
Classroom & Social Skills
Children learn daily routines, classroom expectations, and cooperative behaviors. Activities encourage listening, participation, independence, and confidence in a structured learning environment.
Learning Outcome
By the end of the year, children will have developed strong foundational skills in early literacy, basic mathematics, color and shape recognition, and fine motor development. Through hands-on exploration and structured classroom routines, students gain confidence, independence, and the social skills necessary to successfully transition into the next stage of early learning.
